New Businesses

  • “Financial Breakfasts” : over 30 organised so far, on a bi-monthly basis, each with some fifty attendees: innovative projects are presented to investors, venture capitalists and business angels. Sponsored by the Walloon Ministry, 2001 – 2004.
  • A 15 years experience in the general auditing of small and medium size firms and organisations, gained with numerous diagnosis missions performed for Belgian Public Investment Companies (SRIW, SNI) as well as for European programmes (STRIDE, PACTE, SPRINT).
  • Development of strategy analysis for SMEs : based on a pragmatic method, orientated towards the marketing and commercial aspects, it allows planning the development of SMEs on the national and international markets.
  • B-Plan : making a made in Israel financial planning software suitable for the European business environment constraints, launch and sale of over 250 sets in France and Belgium, 1999.
  • PHILIPS : feasibility study for a diversification: the local production of chips using the thin layer technology, 1998.
  • Feasibility study on setting up a company to market a medical imaging system (ANVAR France), 1997.
  • Participation to many training programs focused on business strategy in starting and developing companies (ESC Lyon France, Management French Institute, Initiation to Starting Companies - Ernest Solvay School of Commerce, Belgium)
  • Training Programme for Managers coming from the French and English speaking Africa: Inter-University Institute for Training and Development (IIFD) on behalf of the General Agency for Cooperation and Development (AGCD), 1988.

Regional Studies

  • Interreg II Programme : focusing on SMEs in the industrial and services markets, to instigate and support trans-border partnerships in the “Meuse-Rhin Euregio”. SPI, 1998-2001
  • MET : Multi-media and the SMEs : organization at the European level of individual meetings between, on one side, small and medium-sized firms (SMEs) and major industrial groups and research laboratories on the other side, seeking potential synergies on multi-media topics. An initiative within the building of a high technology process in Europe, Comité Richelieu, Région Wallonne, 1999.
  • RESIDER : SME’s Strategic Technological Audits in order to promote the Technological Innovation in the Walloon Region, 1996, DG XVI.
  • European project STRIDE to perform 128 SME’s Strategic Technological Audits in Wallonia.
  • European project PACTE to perform 30 business audits to identify potential alliances between two European regions.
  • ROCHEFORT ( Belgium) : on behalf of the S.I.B.S. (Local Public Investment Cy): 30 local companies potential development audits, 1997.


Venture Capital

  • IST 99 – Organisation of five “Investment Forum” in Copenhagen, Berlin, Nice, Milan and Brussels, under the IST (Information Science & Technology) programme, European Commission, DG XIII (with Europe Unlimited, Comité Richelieu, IESE), 1999-2002.
  • Organisation of the second European Venture Capital Forum, associated to a conference on the SME Financing Forum, with both attracting over 1800 attendees. With the Walloon Ministry, 2001.
  • Organisation of the first in Walloonia Venture Capital Conference (Château du Lac -Genval), with over 500 attendees. With the Walloon Ministry, 2000.
  • Participation to the European Innovation Monitoring System – EIMS : study on the professional and vocational education and training necessary for the venture capital firms and investment banks’ investment analysts. European Commission (DG XIII), 1999.
  • Organisation of the tenth European Forum of Capitals for Technology, on the behalf of DGTRE, ANVAR and SPRINT program, 1995.
